The Glory of God – We exist primarily to bring glory to God. The supreme goal of God in history from beginning to end is the manifestation of His great glory. Our response should be the same goal, to see much made of Him. Therefore our duty is to bring our thoughts, affections, and actions into line with this goal. To join God in this goal is called glorifying God.
Isaiah 46:9-10, 48:9-11, 49:3, Ezekiel 20:8-9, 2 Samuel 7:23, John 13:31-32
Making Disciples – We are commanded by God as Christians to glorify His name by making disciples that image and reflect Him. Therefore, we desire to faithfully follow and obey His Great Commission to us as the people of God by making disciples that follow, walk and live like His one perfect Son who imaged and glorified Him perfectly.
Matthew 28:19-20, 1 John 2:6
The Gospel of Jesus Christ – We believe that one of the foundational ways God receives glory is through the hope birthed into our world by the gracious intervention of God through Jesus Christ. Instead of leaving us in guilt, shame, and isolation, God offers forgiveness of sin and reconciliation to Himself through Jesus. This good news, the gospel, brings us into a life-changing relationship with God that satisfies our hearts, gives hope and renewed purpose, and ultimately shows God as Savior and King. We are restored to God by the gospel, transformed by the gospel, compelled to love others through the gospel, and God is glorified through the gospel. We desire to follow Jesus on his mission together by extending the hope of the gospel into northern New Jersey, the northeast at large, and to the world.
2 Corinthians 4:1-6, Ephesians 1:3-14, Philippians 2:6-11
Locally and Globally - Everything we do, we do ultimately for the sake of God’s glory in all nations because we believe that God’s heart is for all nations. Therefore, we share with Him in that affection. We believe that God has called the Church to make disciples not only locally in our immediate context and sphere of influence, but also in global contexts. We, as a church, have a deep heart for the nations, every tribe and tongue. We desire to see God glorified and disciples made through the gospel of Jesus Christ locally and globally. As a church we want to give generously to see local investments for the kingdom, as well as investments world-wide.
