Next Corporate Prayer: Wednesday, February 28 at 7:30pm
"Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak." (Colossians 4:2-4)
At Church at Bergen, we believe that a key part of our mission to reach the greater NYC metro area is through prayer. God is doing exciting things in and through this local church, by His grace, and we are fully dependant upon Him to continue to lead us. We desire to be a local church that prays individually and corporately. Therefore, we gather together on the evening of the last Wednesday of every month for corporate prayer to seek His face together as we faithfully put our hands to the plow in the mission He's called us to. Hope you will join us.
In addition to montly Corporate Prayer, we gather every Sunday morning at 9am in the classroom across from the cafe to plead with and demonstrate our dependence upon our great God to restore, redeem, and reframe our hearts and minds as we live as citizens of another kingdom in this present age. We need His compassion, courage, wisdom and power more than ever. Join us as we pray for our own faith family, community, worship service, local churches around New Jersey and the world
As Charles Spurgeon rightly said,
"Ought we not to look upon our own history as being at least as full of God, as full of His goodness and of his truth, as much a proof of His faithfulness and veracity, as the lives of any of the saints who have gone before? We do our Lord an injustice when we suppose that He wrought all His mighty acts, and showed Himself strong for those in the early time, but doth not perform wonders or lay bare His arm for the saints who are now upon the earth."
